A Case of The Blues
Now here's a little story, it's short and it's sad.
It might make you angry, it might make you mad.
It's about a pretty baby that I loved the best.
She treated me mean, well, you can figure the rest.

Chorus
I got a fifth of whiskey, and a case of the blues,
An achin' in my heart and holes in my shoes

By the end of the day I just walked out the door
I figured that I just didn't love her no more.
So here am I a trudging on down this lane.
I'm hoping that I'll never see her again.

Chorus
I had a fifth of whiskey, I got a case of the blues,
An achin' in my heart and holes in my shoes

I washed away her memory in a seedy bar.
That fifth of whiskey didn't wash it very far.
The whiskey's all gone so is most of my shoes.
And all I got left is a case of the blues.

Chorus
I had a fifth of whiskey, I got a case of the blues,
An achin' in my heart and holes in my shoes

My heart's still aching and my feet 're still sore.
I don't wanna go this road no more.
I'm gonna dig me a hole right under that sky,
And lay me down in it and a pray that I die.

Chorus
I had a fifth of whiskey, I got a case of the blues,
An achin' in my heart and holes in my shoes

The moral of the story that's short and sad,
Is never leave your baby, never run away mad.
But before that sun a-sinks him down in the West.
Tell her she's the one that you love the best.

Chorus
I had a fifth of whiskey, I got a case of the blues,
An achin' in my heart and holes in my shoes
