Lyrics For the Miss Mousy song:
Little Miss Mousy she went out one day,
Looking for grass or for seeds or some hay.
"It's time", said Miss Mousy, "to put some away
For winter is coming quite soon".

She looked in the field and she looked in the wood,
Looking and looking as hard as she could.
"If I find a lot", said Miss Mousy, "it's good
For winter is coming quite soon".

She ran down the path and ran into the trees,
Looking for grass or for hay or for seeds.
"I've found some. I've found some. I think I'll take these
For winter is coming quite soon".

She gathered them up and ran back to her nest,
Holding her treasures tight close to her chest.
"I'll put these away and I'll go get the rest.
For winter is coming quite soon".

Miss Mousy
Once upon a time, at the edge of a wood, lived a little grey field mouse. Her name was Miss Mousy. All summer long she came out of her nest and looked for something to eat. She liked to eat seeds and grass and hay. One day, she peeked out of her nest and saw that it was starting to get cold.

"I think winter is coming quite soon," she said. "I had better go and find some food to put away for the cold weather." So she ran outside and started to look for food. "Seeds would be nice," she said, "or some grass or some hay." She ran into a nearby field and looked for seeds and grass and hay.

She looked up into a tree and saw old Mr. Partu sitting on a branch. "Hello, Mr. Partu," she said. "I think winter is coming quite soon".

Mr. Partu looked down at Miss Mousy. "Who," he said, for he was a wise old owl, and wise old owls can't sing.

Then Miss Mousy turned and ran into the woods, still looking for seeds or grass or hay. "I have found some seeds. I have found some grass. I have found some hay," she said, "These will do nicely for the winter." So she gathered the seeds and took them back to her nest. Then she ran back and gathered up the grass and took it back to her nest. Finally, she gathered up the hay and took it back to her nest.

"I have plenty of food now," she said, "for winter is coming quite soon."

So she sat in her nest and sang a song about winter coming:
